Fine points, but to me that is a different issue tha the quality of story
concepts. I was fine with them whipping the Master's out suddenly.
HOWEVER teh Dana Sterlign thing was just stupid. Personally, I
always thought it should have been Dana HUNTER, and then Max
adn MIriya's kid shoudl have been Nova Satori (I guess I'm saying it
should have been Nova Sterling)
And I never did understand the necessity for that "SDF-2" bs.
The worst translation in the whole genre is in DYRL, when Misa
activates the computer in the Protoculture City. The translation given
in english compared to the original is PATHETIC!! WORST ATTEMPT
EVER AT TRANSLATION, they would have done better to have just
left the audio track blank!
and on that note, I did think tha DYRL was a better version of the
Macross story than the original series.
Personally I think for Robotech II, they should just do the same thing
as before, buy the rights to some more Studio Nue anime, and
translate a continuing story into it. Perhaps: DYRL, Flashback 2012,
Megazone 2-3, SDC Orguss, and Macross II.
