Your sources aren't wrong, just the way you're applying them. First of all, the
UN Spacy database actually has a link to a timeline at the Macross Compedium
(www.macross.anime.net) that gives you dates and times for when all of these
events too place. The Supervision Army came after the protodeviln, according to
SHOJI KAWAMORI HIMSELF. The scene Exodor was referring to was in conjunction
with the phrase where he mentions how the Protoculture lost control of the
Zentradi. Also, the ships in that scene were not Macross class. Studio Nue
never did get around to doing any solid designs for the Supervision Army so
they just sketched a blurry gunboat and changed this and that to make it look
slightly different.
What Hikaru and Misa saw was just a demonstration of power. The world was not
repsonsible for any cultural contamination, for that matter it probably wasn't
even populated by anyone important.
The Zentradi orders not to interefere with Micronian planets were orders issued
by the Protoculture long before the rise of the protodeviln, mainly to keep
them under control so they wouldn't turn on their masters. (It's not easy to
control an army of 40-foot war machines after all). When the Zentradi ignored
this rule to fight the micronian faction of the Supervision Army, the
protoculture lost control of them completely and were caught in a crossfire of
HUGE proportions. This resulted in the extinction of the protoculture, leaving
only the Zentradi behind as a kind of twisted legacy and the few brainwashed
Zentrans and macronized protoculture clones.

Zentradi lack culture, but you couldn't make a case that the ONLY thing they
know how to do is fight. Of course, it stands to reason that fighting is the
centerpiece of their culture and social structure, but in the long lulls in the
combat where there's nobody around to kill, (The six and a half years Kamjin
spent in exile before Britai called him in for the Mars operation) you'd
imagine they do SOMETHING to pass the time. The factory satellites can produce
infinate ammounts of drone targets to play with, but even that gets boring from
time to time, don't you think? So, short of spending six and a half years
jacking off and wishing for something more exciting to do, it seems impossible
to discount the idea that Kamjin and his crew might have stopped off somewhere
and done something simply for fun. Even if they didn't eat it, (Knowin Oigul,
they probably would) it would be a hell of a lot more fun than six years of
target practice.
