[UNSDB] Re: Information Regarding the Meltran

The answer, my friend, may surprise you. As far as the original Macross series
was concerned, the Zentran and Meltran fleets were identical, the only
difference being paint, mecha, and of course crew. The only time the two fleets
look different is in the Macross movie "Do You Remember Love" that came out a
few years after the city. It's a good movie and all, but about the only
position it has in the "official" Macross universe is a major motion picture
produced on Earth around 2030. Studio Nue probably just decided to go nuts with
the mecha designs since the flick was going to be an "alternate version" of the
Macross story anyway.
I seem to remember Bodolza mentioning that the Lap'Lamis fleet was actually
part of the Zentradi "Direct Defense Force" which is probably their equivelant
of the Zentradi Marine corp. (The way Millia fights, that makes perfect sense.
Millia rules ) this means that the meltran fleet would most likely be built in
the same factory satellites as whatever Zentradi fleet they assosciated with,
at least as far as the "official" timeline in cocerned. Macross-II is another
story entirely ^_^.

for asking so many questions, but the more i find out, the more questions i
come up with. Anyway I was wondering if there is a reason why the fleets of the
Zentran & Meltran, look so different in appearance, as the Meltran ships have a
very Earth like appearance compared to the Zentran ships. I guess it's good to
have your ships look different to your enemy's vessels, but the designs of the
Meltran Fleets are radically different to the Zentran's ships! Is there any
information or sites on the Meltran army, as in where they have their shipyards
& bases?
