[UK TV Freelancers] Working hours poll results

Dear TV Freelancer,

Thanks to those of you who took part in our informal polls on Work Your
Proper Hours Day.

The hours for the working week were particularly interesting. The bands
chosen for the poll reflect current and proposed legal maximums. Only 42%
worked less than 48 hours, the current legal maximum without signing an
opt-out. 10% of you worked more than 65 hours in the week, which under
proposed EU legislation will be the maximum legal limit, even with an
opt-out. And a small percentage - just over 3% - worked more than 78 hours,
which means you did not get the legal minimum weekly amount of rest under
current UK law.

The results for working hours on 25th February, with a greater number taking
part in the poll, showed that only 26% worked 8 hours or less, more than 40%
of you worked ten hours or more, and around 18% worked 12 hours or more.

Many freelancers have asked us to repeat the polls later in the year, when
there's more work around, as a high proportion were not working on the day.

Thanks again for your help!
