[UK TV Freelancers] TV WRAP online petition

Dear TV Freelancer,

A small group of TV professionals, all freelancers in the TV industry
like yourself, have teamed up to create an online petition pressing for
fairer working conditions in the film and TV industries. The petition
will eventually be delivered to 10 Downing Street and already has over
900 signatures after only a few days on the net. The petition is worded
as follows:

"We the undersigned believe that the continuing and cynical abuse of
media workers contravenes both the spirit and the letter of the law, and
furthermore is having and will continue to have a damaging effect on
programmes within this very important sector. We ask that government
makes it clear that the law applies in this sector, and that legal
sanctions be imposed on companies who refuse to abide by the minimum
legal requirements."

The new website - at http://www.tvwrap.org.uk/ - draws particular
attention to the Working Time Directive, the Minimum Wage, and holiday
pay. These are all key issues discussed time and time again on the TV
Freelancers site. Please add your voice in asking our government to
enforce these legal principles, by visiting the TV Wrap site and signing
the petition online. You MUST give your name and address to be included
in the petition - but these details will not be visible to any other
users of the site.

The address again:

Best wishes,
