Dear TV Freelancer,

Another couple of quick bits:

1. A pay rise of 2.75% has been agreed on the Pact/Bectu minimum freelance
rates. These take effect from the 1st July - so they're already in force.
(And of course they are exclusive of holiday pay.) Useful to refer to in a
negotiation:

2. Skillset has recently published its skills strategy document for the TV
sector. The action plan makes a fascinating read - not just in terms of the
research findings with regard to the size and make-up of our industry, but
also in terms of action plans for nationwide TV academies, media course
accreditation, freelance training subsidies, skills gaps, entry level
schemes, and lots of other stuff extremely relevant to freelancers. It's

All the best,
