Dear TV Freelancer,
The following information from BECTU is important news for freelancers,
whether or not you are a member of the union.
CLAIM YOUR FREELANCE PENSION CONTRIBUTION
Freelances engaged by independent production companies should now take
advantage of the 4% employer pension contribution that BECTU has
negotiated with PACT.
In order to achieve this you will need to set up a BECTU Stakeholder
Pension, which you can do whether or not you are a BECTU member. Ring
Berkeley Burke on the special helpline number to do this - 0845 634
2010. Once you've done that, on each new job check whether the employer
is a member of PACT. If they are, submit your claim for an employer
pension contribution by filling in and giving them a copy of the Claim
Form which is on the TV Freelancers website at:
www.tvfreelancers.org.uk/pensionclaim.htm
Best wishes
