Up to 78% of people in the U.K. who own digital video recording
devices, or DVRs, claim to fast forward advertisements, according to
research from U.K. communications regulator Ofcom. The findings
suggest widespread fears that the growing use of the devices could hit
advertising revenues are well-founded. Ofcom said 15% of U.K.

other similar products.

http://www.last100.com/2007/06/06/joosts-new-ceo-points-to-a-set-top-box-future/
Despite previously describing Joost as like 'cable television without
the need for a set-top-box', the company has ambitions to get its
software running on something other than a PC that can be more easily
connect directly to a TV. Drawing parallels with Skype which started
life as a PC-only VoIP application but now runs embedded on a number
of "Skype Certified" handsets, it seemed likely that Joost would
pursue a similar strategy, and take its software beyond the PC.
