Hello John,
I'm not sure if you meant to send your document out to UEB-ED - this isn't
really a proofing service...
Anyway:
In short, if you are only using grade 1, there is almost no need for grade 1
indicators - because most of the usual reasons why they're needed don't apply.
In a grade 1 document, the only time a grade 1 indicator is needed is when you
have a number immediately followed by a lowercase letter a-j. So in this
document, in ½as
So, looking at the braille document you sent:
P1, ok.
P2: Can remove g1 indicators, they are not needed.
Equation 1 - no need for any grade 1 indicators.
P3: can delete grade 1 indicator before standing alone letter v.
Note missing end fraction on last equation.
P4: missing end fraction before =
Power loss: rogue bold terminator at end?
I hope this helps.
With best regards,
James.

Subject: [ueb-ed] Equations_fb and Duxbury document
Importance: High
Dear Colleagues,
In middle of preparing mocks. Please don't try to translate the Equations_fb
document into Duxbury as it was quickly put together from two sheets done for
other exams (print version - not fully compatible without having to mess with
math type.
I have manually adjusted symbols. I have endeavoured to follow the guidance as
laid out on page 45 of Using UEB for Science (TC21448) having regard to the
fact that the equals sign of a long equation appears to start on the next line
(as in Snell's law of refraction. Please advise if I am missing any grade 1
indicators - indeed if they are even needed as the student is a UEB Grade 1
User, everything left aligned.
Many thanks.
