We're still paying for it!  IMF calculated ~$12 trillion worldwide in 2009, but 
US GAO estimated $22 trillion+ for US alone in 2013.

depends what you include and what the baselines/trajectories are, but the 
causes and consequences of the crisis have shifted those.
