CINSSU and SAC present a special screening, part of Environmental
Week...

ADVENTURES IN TREE SITTING (2000)

USA, directed by Lou Angelo, 50 min, video.

Witness Julia Butterfly Hill's courageous fight to save a thousand year
old
tree from destruction. Luna became her home for two years and a
rallying
point for environmentalists. More importantly, it depicts her spiritual
journey two hundred feet above the forest, and the surprising wisdom she

acquired on the way.

Adventures in Tree Sitting will be screened on video at 9:00 PM TODAY,
Monday, March 4th, at Innis College Town Hall.

[For more information about Environment Week events, pick up a brochure
from the SAC office, the JCR, Sid Smith, or just about anyplace else on
campus.]

CINSSU and SAC present a Free Friday Film...

SHORT CUTS (1993)

USA, directed by Robert Altman, with Lily Tomlin, Tim Robbins, Jennifer
Jason Leigh, Tom Waits, Bruce Davison, Fred Ward, Robert Downey Jr.,
Matthew Modine, Andie MacDowell. 187 min, 35mm.

"Frank settled down out in the Valley / And hung his wild years / On a
nail
/ That he drove through his wife's forehead."

Based on short stories by Raymond Carver, a brilliant cast of actors
play
eccentric 30-something characters whose lives manage to overlap and
intersect in Los Angeles. The characters of this cynical comedy are
accurately sketched, not relying on cheap pratfalls for laughs. Instead

they do normal run-of-the-mill things like clean pools, go out to
concerts,
cheat on their spouses, lie, and drink, with death never seeming to be
far
away.

Short Cuts will be screened in 35mm at 7:00 PM this Friday, March 8th,
at
Innis College Town Hall.
