Troop 286 has a new Membership Coordinator!
Karen Cartwright (Adam's Mom) has agreed to step up and help out the troop
by focusing on facilitating the flow of new scouts into our troop.
Karen will be working on such duties as developing a plan for year-round
membership flow into the troop, working closely with the Pack 94 Cubmaster
and Webelos Den Leaders to provide a smooth transition from Pack 94 into
Troop 286, assisting in the development and recruitment of Den Chiefs for
Pack 94, and assisting with the cross-over ceremony from Webelos Scouts to
Boy Scouts. She will work on planning and coordinating a Troop 286 open
house to invite non-scouts into the troop and will be encouraging our
Scouts to invite their friends to join the troop. Karen will also be
keeping track of Scouts who drop out of the troop and developing a plan to
encourage them to rejoin.

We are still looking for a new Troop 286 Troop Committee Chair. Ken
Kiplinger has only agreed to step back in until a new Troop Committee Chair
can be found.
For everyone that is interested in taking over the Troop Committee Chair
position, here are the duties:
Organize the committee to see that all functions are delegated,
coordinated, and completed.
Maintain a close relationship with the Chartered Organization
Representative and the Scoutmaster.
Interpret national and local policies to the troop.
Prepare Troop Committee meeting agendas.
Call, preside over, and promote attendance at monthly Troop Committee
meetings and any special meetings that may be called.
Ensure top-notch, trained individuals for troop leadership.
Arrange for charter review and recharter annually.
Plan the charter presentation.
Please let Ken or I know if you are interested in this critical troop
committee position.
