The Troop 286 October Camping trip details are as follows:
Where: Cricket Holler Boy Scout Camp
When: 5 PM this Fri, Oct 14th to ~11 AM on Sun, Oct 16th
Meet: 5 PM on Friday in the large parking lot down the road found
at 6675 Brantford Road
Return: Plan to pickup scouts on Sunday at the same location at ~11 AM
Weather forecast, remember in Ohio you wait an hour and the forecast
will be different...

Activities:
* Friday: Scouts need to focus on setting up camp (5-7 PM) while it
is still light. Those that get done first need to help the other
Scouts get setup.
* Saturday: Focus is on completing the orienteering requirement and
any other requirements needed for advancement this year.
Grub Masters: Sam Sortman and Elijah Sherck
Food is needed for a total of 15 campers per meal.
Meals: Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch & dinner, and Sunday
breakfast
We are camping in the Treaty camp site that has both tent areas and 4
Adirondacks. Adirondacks are 3-sided roofed enclosures with open bunk
beds. Those who want to try sleeping in one of the Adirondacks need a
foam or similar sleeping pad to place on the bunk and their sleeping
bags. As usual, Troop 286 Scout tents will be available.
Suggestions from a Scout mother: Remember to be prepared for the cold
weather. Bring WARM clothes. Good ideas are wool socks, a hat, gloves,
and a scarf.
Scoutmasters note: A scarf is useful for covering your face when
sleeping in the cold - rather then burying your head in your sleeping
bag and getting it wet with condensation from breathing.
Bring a compass, spiral notebook or small writing pad and pen for the
orienteering activity.
