That's a good one, Victor. I downloaded and unzipped the file and proceeded to put a shortcut to "Hotkey.exe" in my "StartUp" folder. From my system tray I clicked on the HotKey Icon & configured it to open a program located in C:\programs\ingava\laserage\ after first assigning my "hotkey" combination for laseage.exe & voila'! It makes no changes to the registry at all. Check it out, Brian...you'll like it. Kudos, Victor. Welcome aboard. Hi there! Look for a program called HotKeys. Here is one instance of it: http://www3.sympatico.ca/paulscott/hotkey.htm There are other keyboard tools at: http://www.freewarehome.com/System_Utilities/Keyboard_Tools_t.html I hope this helps. -= Victor =- -----Original Message----- From: triadtechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:triadtechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of brian99 Sent: Friday, April 30, 2004 9:07 PM To: triadtechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [triadtechtalk] Short Cut Problem: Sorry for the delay! Armando, Thanks for the reply. I am always thankful to see you postings since it means I am most likely just a few short steps away from solving a computer problem that would otherwise probably take me weeks, if ever to resolve! I looked at the links you provided and I now have a much greater understanding of the situation. What I was trying to do was to use 3 keys to have, say Netscape run. For example, press Ctrl+Alt+N and Netscape would run. What I have found was that I can make it work if I have the Netscape icon on the desk top. And I can do it with any icon that is on the desk top. But what I was trying to do was to open something that did not have an icon on the DESKTOP. What I learned is that if f the icon is not on the desk top it could not be done. I was hoping I could create the 3 key selection to open up something that is not on the desktop, but I now don't think that is possible. I could easily create a "short cut" on the desk top but that isn't what I was trying to do. I did not want anything on the desk top and wanted to open it with the 2 key selection.. So I think that resolves that matter. Thanks for helping me to clear up another computer mystery!
