I actually know a musical version of this, an Irish ballad named, "Johnny Be Fair". And another musical version to the same tune about a poor girl whose father is the captain of a starship (a thinly veiled reference to Captain Kirk of the original Star Trek), and the brothers are all strange alien creatures.
