I had thought that I was over the not being able to be around or hold
a newborn stage, especially since I had Rylee, but Rylee was so
different than Jessica. There was absolutely no resemblance at all
(Jessica was so petite and frail and Rylee was plumb, swollen and
squishy)- so that made it much easier.

3 of Mike's sister's have new babies right now. One -Zander was
adopted in April(they got him when he was 3 days old) and the other
two, Josh and Evan, were born in June 2 days apart. Anyway we got to
see them all last month at Mike's niece's benefit (MD) and I totally
lost it when I held Evan (his youngest sister's little boy). He looks
so much and feels so much like Jessica I just trembled. It was such
an odd feeling after 5 years.I felt so bad because I held the other's
with no problem and poor Katie (his sister) didn't understand. The
next day I just had to avoid him, it seemed so unfair (to him and to
us). His features were so petite and tiny - he just had Jessica
written all over him, Mike and my sister saw it too. I should have
just undressed him and then I would have seen the difference ;0) I
just hope that he changes (of course he will) and I don't have this
problem every time I see him.

BTW, Jake was the only grandson on that side for all these years (7
girls and 1 boy) Now he is very happy to have some allies. We have a
great picture of him holding all the babies if anyone is interested
I'll send it. It's so strange to see Jake with boys!!!!
