Pam,
It is unfortunate but true that there are many people just like Karen all 
over Australia caring for family members (whilst saving the govt MEGA bucks) 
and being left to lead lives of destitution and desperation.  I am going to 
send an email to my local member.  I am not sure how you could do that from 
overseas as you have no 'sway' with them ie I voted for you in the last 
election.  I think a really nice thing though would be to bombard Karen and 
Alex with cards and letters to help them feel less isolated.??? just a 
thought.....
