[tri-wings] Re: new to group

Dear Shanna,

I am so sorry to know that you lost your son.  My story is similar in that
we learned about our daughter Rowan's trisomy 18 after she was born.  The
shock is incredible.  Unlike you, she was our first child.  We have had four
other children after Rowan, who are healthy.

I also experienced such amazing isolation after she died.  It is like people
don't understand, and don't really want to.  That wall goes up, as you said,
and that makes it so impossible because all you want to do is talk about
Tyler!  I wish more people in the world understood the need we have to share
our babies and process the pain and our loss through sharing.  

How old are your living children?  How have things been for them?  I am
sorry that you only had five short days with Tyler.  I hope you are able to
find some quiet time for yourself, just to be sad and cry and think about
him.

I found that writing helped me get a lot off my chest in the days when I had
nobody to really open up to. I kept a journal and wrote letters to Rowan.  I
also read as much as I can find about loss and grief.

Hi,
   My name is shanna I was looking for info on trisomy-13 when i found
trisomyonline.org. I saw that there was this group and i thought i would
give it a try. I just lost my son Tyler Nicholas to trisomy-13 on april 6.
He was born april 1 we had no idea there was anything wrong with him until
after he was born. Talk about a real shock especially since we have 3
Healthy children. 
   I have found it difficult to talk to others about tyler. There really
isan't anyone around that knows how I feel and that instantly puts up a
wall. I hope that this is a place i can get some support in dealing whith
this.
