My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time and the long journey that
lies ahead. We did not know that our daughter Jenna had T-13 until after she
was born. ( BTW I am from the Downriver are in Michigan).
Take care

Subject: [tri-wings] new diagnosis-almost
I just had an ultrasound this past Tuesday and was so excited to find out =
that I was having a baby girl-though I didn't mind about the sex, as long =
as the baby would be healthy. One hour later, my midwife sat me down and =
told me the bad news. Here it is, three days later, and I have gone from =
total elation to extreme sadness. My baby girl likely has Trisomy 18. I =
will find out the preliminary amnio results some time today, though I know =
in my heart what they will be. Everything adds up. Now I am faced with =
the extremely difficult decision making that I know you are all aware of- =
though I've pretty much already decided what to do. What a terribbly =
gut-wrenching time in my family's life this is. I am a nurse, and =
sometimes feel that I know too much- but now I really know nothing at all. =
I have read many of the e-mails sent to me over the past few days since =
joing this list. You all are very brave people, and give me a sincere =
sense of hope for the days to come- regardless of what I decide to do. I =
never knew much about all of these chromosomal abnormalities until now- I =
just wish that I didn't have a reason to know.
