Kristin,
Know that you have our support during this time. Mandy is so right in what
she said that some of these children do survive longer. Our little friend
Karah, full T-18, will be eight years old in July. While she is unable to
walk and nonverval, she can get all over a room--especially when she wants
to get something!--and she talks with her eyes! Her moods and thoughts are
so readable! I wouldn't have had the chance to know this precious young lady
if it hadn't been for my own daughter Erin-full T-18.
We didn't know Erin's diagnosis until she was two weeks old and had been
home for a week! We were blessed to have her with us for six months. It's
amazing how one such little person had such an impact on so many people! I
won't go into her whole story here, but her web site is listed at the
bottom.
Take care and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Gloria--mommy to angel Erin(11/4/94-5/4/95),plus Loren, 27; Adam, 26;
Brenda, 22(an NICU nurse), and Ashlyn, 11.
