Our system wants to spend millions of dollars air
conditioning the schools so they can only give the
kids a 6 week summer break instead of 12.  I don't
quite get it, like I said as a former career person -
all I can see is babysitting issues.  How can a
babysitter or child care place stay in business if
they only have kids 2 weeks every 9.  They'll surely
take a younger one that can be there all the time over
my grade school one that is too young to stay home
alone.  Everyone says your environment adjusts, but
I'm the eternal pessimist.  Guess I should go to the
meetings if I'm that concerned though.  I have other
battles right now, so I'll probably be sorry I passed
this one up.
