Hi Susan,
It was me. The professionals told me to boil water in the microwave
before I did anything. That makes everything wet. Then, I wiped the
inside with a dry paper towel. That was the first thing I did. That
helped a lot. Then, I used a paste of baking soda. I also tried (I
think) the cleanser for ceramic/glass stove tops. It still isn't
really white, but much better than it was.

I was also told by the professionals to put a bowl of vinegar in the
microwave. You don't have to "cook" it, just let it sit there. That
helps with the smell, but it doesn't go away instantly. I put
vinegar in several places in the area. Since our kitchen, dining
room, and living room are all open, the whole place smelled. That
meant that I needed to put vinegar everywhere. I tried to hide it.
Under the drapes in the living room and dining room. Behind the sink
in the kitchen. And just to be sure, I put a bowl in the garage
right by the door to the kitchen. I didn't want people to hit that
smell before they even entered the house.

Hope this helps!!
