Paul - Thank You for sharing the beautiful story of your Father. WE view
each of our children as "True gift's from GOD". The only burden we have is
other people who have forgotten about who has given THEM there gift's. We
have had 7 pregnancies. That have resulted in 6 live birth's. We lost our
first on July 17,1990. I think of him every day( Michael Joesph) and over
the last week and have really grieved for him. He would be 14 sooo strong
in the field's with Dad. Helping with hay and the tractor's. All that good
hard work in the rural life :) I went to our daughter Magdalena's grave
last night and grieved for both of them. When we lost Michael we weren't
given the option of his tiny body. He was a 6 week miscarriage. How I wish
I knew what I know now. He would have been buried at a local Monastarey.
I really enjoy your post's from a "Grandpa's View" my Dad drove me home
from the hospitol when I had our last baby. #7 Margaret Mary who was born
2-6-03. That was weird. Bittersweet but weird. Everybody thought HE was
the Father....we laughed. My Dad is 57 and I'm 37. So it could have been
his in the literal sense. NOT. We did get alot of stares and we laughed
sooo hard in the car!
My dad never talk's about Magdalena and really wishes we'd STOP having
children. I tell whoever cares to ask "If we're done yet" that our children
are "OUR 401K's and if we have trained them up to alway's respect life we'll
be set".
My other favorite line is "They are the only thing I can take to heaven"
"sooo the new car, truck, boat, house, clothes, eating out, having the latest
greatest whatever, running here and there WILL just have to wait". :)
This past Sunday we had my DH's family reunion. I did the introduction of
our family because my husband CAN'T. Last year was the first reunion we
went to and shared the loss of Magdalena. He couldn't talk and was crying
it broke my heart to see him in sorrow for our daughter. This year I did
the intoduction and he cried again......The stubborn German side takes a
backseat when it comes to this grief.
I was sent a post that was read on Rush Limbaugh's show on how little this
gift of life is taken. If your interested I'll share it off this list.
Just email me and I'll share it.
God Bless- Dawn B
