Kristy -
I kept the last outfit, the outfit that Savannah passed away in by my side
for the first 3 months, in my purse or in my hands. After that, I moved it
to my glove box in my car. It now sits on my desk and sometimes I pick it
up and it still smells of her and it has been 7 years that she has been
gone. It has never been washed and nobody around the house either touches
it nor do they ask as they all know.
Certain things we just keep. Something as precious as that book, you will
always treasure it as it was your way of life for so long. If you can't
touch it today, tomorrow is a new day. It took me 6 months to open up the
door to her room even though she never slept in there, it was her nursery.
I still have my box of items from her.
It's ok and this is your time not any one else's. We are here for you, just
keep talking hun!
Love,
Darcy - Mommy to my angel Savannah Kristyne (T-18 ^I^ 12/12/00 - 6/15/01)
and wife to my incredible soulmate Don!
