[tri-wings] fund raising ideas?

Ok guys I need your help :-)

Yesterday I found out that my ob/gynae who looked after me so wonderfully when
I lost Gareth and Dominic, is trying to raise funds for some pioneering work in
rectal tears (major cause of incontinence in later life for us mums) and also
in turning breach babies to cut down on the need for C-sections.The downside in
all of this is that whilst he thought he would be getting the money from the
MRC , he hasnt and the icing on the cake is he has been diagnosed himself with
liver cancer. He is currently in remission but this form of cancer has very
little chance of its victim surviving.(normally six months max)He hopes to
complete the study now before he is promoted to glory himself and if he doesnt
then he wants to leave it as his legacy.(others hope to complete it in his
abscence if necessary)

I sent a card to him expressing my shock at how life could be so cruel to such
a wonderful, caring person (he was the only one who stood by my decision to
continue with my "incompatible"baby). He had told me last time I saw him in May
this year that one day he would be there to see me have the baby I longed
for....well that will never be now but I would like to do something back for
him and for the many mums who suffer rectal tears and breach births.

The hospital are currently looking for fund raising activities so they can fund
his research quicker.I have volunteered myself today to give any help I can.If
any of you know any effective fund raising stuff can you email me at
baby2angels2000@xxxxxxxxx so I can forward them on to the hospital.

I know someone somewhere must have done something in the past..

Thanks in advance

big hugs
