Mike -
Thanks for the words that I had a hard time putting down. Through all of
this, we have not experienced any negativity. We have been very lucky
and very blessed. Our church elders came over the morning after she
passed away, they were there when I called them at 7:00 am on a Saturday
morning. My father in law was with us when Savannah passed away. He
cried with us. The nurses and the doctor said it was the most peaceful
passing that he had ever experienced. Several of her doctors came in to
her area of the ICU and expressed their condolences. We had neighbors
and several members of our church bring us dinner, we are still receiving
phone calls and cards. I wish this could be for everyone that
experiences the loss of a child. It is such a hard time and it is so
unfortunate that so many people are so insensitive, or just plain don't
have a clue! I do consider myself lucky, I got my baby for 6 months, and
I had a very supportive family and fabulously supportive husband. (We
only had a problem with his mother, an RN, but that is a whole other
story!) Anyhow, I am so sorry to everyone that has experienced such
insensitivity and I pray that you will soon experience some peace in your
lives. 'nuff said!
