[tri-wings] Re: Trisomy 18

My granddaughter, Lillian Faith was born on Sept. 27rd 2008, and before she was
born the doctors had diagnosed her with a congenital heart defect.  Three days
after she was born she had heart surgery to put in a shunt.  2 days after that
she was diagnosed with Trisomy 13, mosaic.  After 3 weeks she came home from
the hospital.  She always had feeding problems and she was sent home with a
feeding tube.  She was alert and she was growing, slowly but growing.  On
November 27, Lilly passed away.  We were in shock and still have not
recovered.  I say all this to tell you to love your baby, hold him as much as
possible, take as many pictures as possible, make cast of his hands and feet,
let the house work go, and just be with him..  I have been reading all the
emails and have never responded before now, but I just had to.  You can never
spend enough time with them.  I will be praying for you and your little one.
Many prayers, Vicki, grandmother to
angel, Lillian, and 17 other wonderful and healthy granchildren.

Hello,
I recently had a beautiful baby boy. January 20th to be exact. They rushed
him to a better qualified hospital the day he was born. Two weeks after all the
testing, doctors diagnosed him with Trisomy 18. Myself, my husband and the rest
of my family had never heard of this disorder and were deeply hurt when we
learned of its severity. I wondered if there were any other people who have
experienced the same thing. My son is doing good though. He is now 1 month and
three days old. He's like any other baby to me. My family and I love him
so much, he's our little angel. We look at him and can't believe what
doctors are telling us, he looks so normal and precious!

Deeply sadened
