Dear Jesse,
My baby girl, Arily, was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 when I was 22 weeks
pregnant. She also had Turners syndrome, and the problems both
disorders dished up were too much for her tiny body to take anymore and
she stopped growing. She was born sleeping on July 8th, 2006 at 26
weeks gestation.
Your little boy is beating the odds right now, you did an amazing job at
giving him the strength to do so well. Trisomy 18 doesn't have o be the
death sentence so many doctors impose on our babies, I know of a family
whose daughter survived with full Trisomy 18 to the age of 21. Did your
doctor mention mosaic? The disorder affects every baby differently.
I'll keep your little boy in my prayers that he will stay with you for a
long time.
Jean
