Sometimes, it's just due to the cells that they randomly collected.
Theoretically, they should get the same results regardless, but the
results can be off if they took a smaller sample. Do you know how many
cells they read? For Arily, they read 50 for the FISH, 50 for the full
chromosome analysis and 50 cells from her placenta and cord. They all
gave different results.
They don't know how or why mosaicism occurs. There are theories, but
sometimes, our babies like to throw a spanner in the works and give
results that don't fit with the theories they have. My baby girl had
three very separate cells paths on the FISH test, they can't figure out
how that happened. I was like you, I gave up trying to find information
about having two separate chromosomal disorders in one baby, none have
ever developed a heartbeat to anyone's knowledge, Arily was the first
that all three companies that completed the testing had ever seen.
Every time they get a unique and special baby, like your little boy,
they can learn a little more why we have to go through this. I'm so
sorry that you had to lose your baby boy, but I'm glad that you have
gotten some answers.
