[tri-wings] Tink

Hi all,

     I just had to let you know what a wonderful "tink" I received today.  
Today is Rachael's birthday so it made it all the more special.  I was running 
some errands on my lunch hour and stopped at one of the small local markets to 
get something to drink.  While I was checking out the cashier, a young 
gentleman, said to me " You're Rachael's mom aren't you?"  I replied "Yes, I 
am.  Did you know her?"  He went on to tell me that he knew Rach from school 
and how much he enjoyed watching her come into school off of the bus tinkering 
in high heel shoes.  She'd make sure everyone noticed the shoes and would 
flounce around like she was the queen of all divas, fishing for compliments.  I 
got such a kick out of this because, usually unbeknownst to me, she had 
"borrowed" a pair of my shoes, hid them in her backpack, and would change into 
them on the bus.  I always wondered how my good shoes got so scuffed up!  He 
went on to tell me how she always said hi to him and teased him by trying to 
knock his baseball cap off, and that he missed seeing her around.  It put such 
a spark in my day to know that others still remember her!!!  For those of you 
who were not on the list in the spring of 2000, her class dedicated graduation 
to her and had the song " You Were There" by Babyface printed in their program 
followed by "Dedicated to a special friend.  We all miss you Rachael" , the 
Class of 2000.  What a great, compassionate group of teenagers!!!  Anyways, 
just wanted to share this very special moment of my day.
