[tri-wings] Time for an update

It's raining and cold here so I figured it was time to give you all an update 
on the way forward ..(.just because I'm bored and no one is on MSN has no 
influence on the length of this post LOL)

Some of you who chat with me offlist and some of you on Wings will know some of 
what I'm going to tell you...so the first bit is especially for the family 
list...

After my complete and utter fiasco of a marriage ended ,I have been doing some 
serious thinking and I really do believe in my heart that the way forward for 
me now is to chanel my energy and left over heaps of love into adopting a 
special needs child.I had considered it for sometime but there was always 
someone stopping me before.

I applied via the adoption agency website and they sent me an information pack 
and a form to fill up all about myself.I posted it back to them on Tuesday of 
last week and by Friday afternoon, I had a telephone call from them.Much 
quicker than I had anticipated as the wheels normally turn real slow here on 
paperwork.

The lady I spoke to said that under normal circumstances they dont cover my 
area but given the fact that I had specified that I was interested in special 
needs then they are prepared to step outside of their catchment area and added 
to that they are prepared to visit me whereas normally they would expect 
prospective adopters to travel to them (50 miles from me).She said they have 
many people interested in healthy kids but the harsh reality for special kids 
is that they are left behind and many wait for years to find a family.Friends, 
this broke my heart to think that this is the sad world in which we 
live...where did we go wrong?? :*(

Anyhow this is where I need your prayers and positive vibes...the special needs 
adoption coordinator is coming to visit me on Friday ..yikes !! I need to show 
her that I am that person they are looking for....:-))
