[tri-wings] Thomas family update

Hi all,

Thank you all so much for the prayers. Looks like we lucked out and our
house is still intact. We are still in Dallas, but Rich's boss headed
back to our area today and went by and checked our house for us. He
didn't think we had electricity, but other than a few tree branches, the
house came out unscathed! My mom and a good friend of ours was flown
out of Galveston via a C130 cargo plane to Ft. Worth. My dad and I
picked them up Thursday night. That was such a relief considering when
they decided to fly them out of Galveston, it seemed as if Rita was
going to make a direct hit on Galveston. It was such a weird feeling
showing up at this little airport in Ft. Worth and seeing all the
familiar faces of our doctors, nurses, housekeepers, electricians, etc.
People I probably have never spoken to at my hospital, but recognized
their faces - we all hugged and cried - so glad that everyone was out of
harms way. Funny how these kinds of things bring out the best in
people. These people all moved 420 some odd patients out of our
hospital within 12 hours. Just amazing.

Anyway, we will be heading back to League City on Monday. Praying the
traffic will be light and that there will be gas along the way. Not to
mention, it would be nice to have electricity by then. But, hey...we
couldn't ask for more than knowing that we are all safe.

Thanks again for the prayers...you guys have no idea how much I
appreciate each and every one of you. And, a big thank you to Teri for
offering to help us out (since we were in your stomping ground!)

Atousa - probably won't be stopping in to see you in College Station on
our way home...we'll have to make plans to meet soon, though.

Katie - got your message and I will call you when I get home!

Hugs,

Brenda - wife to Rich, mommy to Matthew Alexander(3), Grace Alexandra
