[tri-wings] Re: Think i Jinxd myself

I know how hard it is to be in your situation. I have had two miscarriages
in addition to losing Emma. That beginning point of pregnancy, before you know
that things look ok, is one of the hardest. Unfortunately, for me anyway,
that stress did not completely go away until he was born. I hope it does for
you.

Switching to midwife mode, statistically 30 to 40 % of women will bleed
during their pregnancies. Over half will go on to have healthy normal
deliveries
of healthy babies. So, seeing blood in the beginning does not mean that it is
over. I usually check women's HCG and progesterone levels every two days
until the HCG levels are above 2000 and then turn to ultrasound to track the
viability of the pregnancy. If your doctor is not doing this, you can ask to
have
it done. For me it brings peace of mind. You are looking for a doubling of
your HCG every 48 hours, but remember that doubling is an average and just
because you are not average does not mean you are abnormal. Normal pregnancies
sometimes do not double every 48 hours, but take 72 or sometimes more. In
general, however if you see a doubling, you can feel pretty good about your
numbers. The progesterone varies depending on your lab but the results will
come
back with a target for your weeks gestation. If it is low, progesterone
supplements can be started. Some women need these and they can make all the
difference.

I hope all continues to go well and you have a healthy pregnancy. If not,
please know we are here to listen if you need to scream, yell or cry. You are
in
 my prayers,

Bess
