[tri-wings] Re: Talking of Rainbows

Karen...what a wonderful rainbow analogy! Thanks to you (and Joe) for sharing!
In our family, rainbows were always significant to Noah...I think it started
off with his name being biblical with Noah's Ark. Even before the birth of
Noah wherein we didn't know of his diagnosis of Trisomy, rainbows where
appearing more frequently...one even appears in the "Noah & The Many Faces of
Trisomy" video when Noah was still in the womb when the family was on the boat.
Coincidentally at Noah's funereal service, the Pastor read the story of Noah's
Ark to the children. After reading the story, he reiterated the rainbow and
how when we see a rainbow it will be a reminder of Noah and it has always
carried with us. Now some of you may think we are crazy, but every time there
is a significant event in our family, a rainbow appears! It started off that a
rainbow appeared at the cemetery the day Noah was buried this being shortly
after the Pastor read the story of Noah's Ark...when my brother and
sister-in-law got married, our whole family was on a small plane from Jamaica
to the island of Turks & Caicos when a rainbow stayed for the duration of the
flight...my youngest brother who plays high school baseball has a rainbow
appear at almost all of his games the past few years...I could name more
occasions but I think you get the point :) This could all be coincidence but
to us, the rainbow represents Noah...he is always with us and shows that he is
with us by the rainbow! Yes, we know that he is with us in sprit but the
rainbow reiterates that and when we see one, it either makes us smile or brings
a tear to our eye. This isn't an analogy like Joe's but that is what the
rainbow represents to our family...Noah is with us and God shows us or reminds
us that Noah is with us through the rainbow.

Now something else to share about the significance of the rainbow...when we
were exploring logos for Noah's Never Ending Rainbow, we learned that a true
rainbow maintains 7 colors...this became symbolic to us as our logo (which
Debbie graciously designed for us which we LOVE) maintains 7 colors of the
rainbow which represents the 7 months that Noah lived. Printers continuously
tell us that having 7 colors of the rainbow makes the printing cost high but we
believe it is symbolic to Noah so we bite the bullet and pay the extra printing
fee as it is important to us to have that symbolism represented in the
organization.

I, like Karen, would agree that the rainbow is not a symbol that everything
will be good again...I see the rainbow as God's promise!

Angel blessings to all,

Dana
