We are no where near done with storm cleanup--two weeks ago
had a
huge storm go thru with 100plus MPH winds that took out many
huge
trees in town, including in our yard. We lost the
evergreen tree

Christmas, but her stone was fine. Fortunately there was no
major
home damage except one mobile home flattened and that guy wasn't
home. Sadly, one guy was killed during cleanup. I guess we just
never know from day to day.
I'm glad that you posted this. I should have tried calling you
because I had asked Dick (when it was scrolling on the bottom of the
TV screen) how far away from you that storm was. We decided that you
probably had to be pretty close. But then, life got busy around
here, and I just never thought of it again. I'm so sorry. I'm glad
that Erin's stone was not damaged. My sis and b-i-l had major clean-
up to do a few weeks ago in their yard, too. The neighbor's large
tree came down across my sis's fence and into their yard. The main
trunk did not land on the garage, but right beside it. There were
major branches on the garage and throughout the yard. And that takes
time to clean -up. The sad part is that the neighbor whose tree it
was, did not offer to help with any of the clean-up. And from the
pictures that I got, there was no other damage in his yard.
I've been going to ask you about Karah for quite a while, too.
Thirteen! Wow! Maybe she doesn't even go to the same school
anymore. I have her mom's school e-mail in my address book, and I
know that schools are getting more and more strict with the use of
their e-mail. My son is going to be working at the Inner City School
some this year. He has had 2 additional buildings added to his work
load, so he might/should be seeing them if they are still there.
They start school on Monday! How sad! 99% of Minnesota schools
don't start until after Labor Day since that was mandated by law, but
schools can individually petition and start earlier. Because our
State Fair runs until Labor Day, and there are a lot of kids from
rural areas at least in 4-H, most schools go with the day after Labor
Day.
(I keep trying to do this fancy indent to get away with quoting more
than the list limit. So if it turns up with huge spaces in it, it is
because it didn't work.) ;^}
Glad you are OK.
Always there for a Hug and a Prayer!
