Paul,

Don't ever think of yourself as "just" a Grandfather.  You have been through
a great deal of pain yourself and the fact that you sought us out here shows
how much you care about little Annalis and the rest of your family.
Sometimes it is even harder for Grandfathers and Grandmothers, Uncles and
Aunts because not only do they lose someone they love but they have to watch
the suffering that their kids (sisters, brothers) go through as well.  

You are such a strong source of support for your family, but that may cause
you to hide your grief to be strong for them.  I'm so glad that we can be
here during those times that you need to just let out some of that pain.
