And now tell us about the sponsor children....?? :-)

David and I have sponsored at least one child our whole married life (24
years last December). After Louise gained her wings we asked that when the
current child had moved out of the program (i.e. grown up) could we please
have a girl. Well we did get a girl from Bangladesh called Sunni her Mum
had leprosy and her Dad was a farmer so we helped the family by sponsoring
her then her Mum died when she was 11 and we were devastated because she had
to leave the program to care for her family (never did find out what
happened to her- Sunni that is, her Mum died from leprosy). Anyway we have
had boys in Bangladesh ever since, Reliom and now Diponkar. Then at the
beginning of 2007 our Church went into partnership with Compassion and a
church in Indonesia and we had 100 children's photos and bios plastered all
over the church wall. David and I decided to sponsor another child and
little Yulia Veronika stood out she was 3 at the time and her birthday is
the 23rd of July same day as my Auntie Dot and 6 days before mine. Well in
November 2007 David, Jesse and I went to Indonesia on a short term mission
and we got to MEET Yuli face to face. It was amazing we met her Mum and 2
sisters and we took them gifts. It was the best experience and just showed
us how much our sponsorship does!! $50 a month. they earn so little, Hotlan,
Yuli's Dad fixes trucks beside the highway (oh you have no idea!!!) and
Meliani, Yuli's Mum works at a laundry. They bring home $80 a month so you
can see how our $50 a month, that is pittance to us, is so helpful to them.
And I guess actually meeting them made them even more our family too so I
added them to my signature.
OK now you're sorry you asked LOL
