My first conference was about 8 weeks after we lost
Jess. I resisted going the whole time everyone was
talking about it - it was in Chicago that year too, so
just a 3 hour drive.  For some reason, the Thursday of
conference I knew I had to go - to let Jess's balloon
go, we packed up Sat morning and headed there.  I
think it's one of the best things I've done for her,
because in a way it has kept me connected to this
group.  It may not be for everyone, and it may not be
for you, but it was a turning point for me.  I'm sure
they would welcome you if you changed your mind at the
last moment.
