Joe, yes - similar. I am a carrier of the Robertsonian Translocation
13/14.

And for us, either. Our test results were to give us peace of mind as
well.

All in all, I believe that ANYONE that has had a child with any type of
abnormality should be tested (both parents) for chromosonal defects. Even
if they come back 'normal', that peace of mind would be enough to answer
most future questions of testing during pregnancy. The risks associated
with pregnancy testing versus having parents tested are far greater!

I remember - very clearly and still, with mixed emotions...the moment the
neonatologist at Baylor Dallas looked at me, after receiving my own test
results revealing my translocation and said "you know, if you have no more
children, you CAN stop this now..." Selfishly (?) I went on to have 2 more
miscarriages and 2 more beautiful children. I AM slightly obstinate when it
comes to being 'told' what to do.. :) Now, we'll forever deal with the
future of our children - and love every single one of them no matter what
the outcome. Good luck Ambre! We're all THRILLED for you...
