Hi Kerstin - Just saw Oliver's pictures and he is a such a precious, cute
baby. You should be very proud. (as I know you are). The drawing was
excellent. And I loved the little outfit you "sent him home" in too. Thank
you for sharing the pictures with me/us. I know it was difficult but I'm so
glad you did.
I felt the same way as you did regarding my son's pictures. I kept them
very close to me at first and did not want to show them/give them to just
anyone in fear that they would just be curiousity seekers who wanted to see
what was "wrong" with him. I just drew a picture of Bobby for my husband
for Father's day and he was so proud of it, he wanted to send a scan of it
to his friends and family and I told him I didn't want it sent out to just
anyone. I think I protect his pictures like I would protect him since all I
have left of him are pictures (and memories). (my father-in-law didn't
really bother with Bobby too much and the only way he will ever get a
picture of Bobby from me is if Hell freezes over because in my eyes, he
doesn't deserve it. (he obviously doesn't want one either since he never
asked for one but that's just fine with me- totally his loss). I've gotten
a lot better regarding his pictures - I wear a picture of him engraved on
gold around my neck and I'm really proud to show him off (but I do find
myself tucking it under my shirt when I'm in the company of friends/family
that weren't really there for him/us - I don't think they are worthy.
