The SOFT(Support Organization for Trisomy 18, 13 and Related Disorders)
Conference will be in Chicago July 11-14.  People attend from all over the
USA and some other countries as well.  I always describe it as a family
reunion of people I'm not related to.  Some of the people still have their
children and some don't.  There are workshops, welcoming reception, outings,
and memorial picnic and balloon release.  Plus a lot of hugging and tears.
Except for 2000, we've gone every year since 1995, and have met a lot of
wonderful people.  The SOFT website is http://www.trisomy.org  , and
President Barb VanHerreweghe's e-mail is barbsoft@xxxxxxx , and her #
is1-800-716-SOFT.  They can get you the info.  If you can't attend, a
balloon can still be released for Damon.  A few of us in SD and MN were
toying with the idea of trying to get together in Willmar, MN sometime in
late summer or early fall.  Are you anywhere near there?
