Wait a minute!?? Catfish aren't that small of a fish! How big is your
pond?? Ours is like 4' by 6' and about two feet deep. It's hard to
explain--we'll have to exchange project pix when I get mine developed--but
mine is by one corner of the house where flowers never grew decent and
bordered by sidewalk. I built up with landscaping creekstone along inside
the sidewalk. So the pond is out of the ground about eight inches, but the
dirt has been raised level with its top. Then I planted ferns, lilies of the
valley and irises around it(kind of a wild look). Then we took an
old-fashioned pump, painted it red, and it "pumps" into the pond. I love the
sound of the water running. Part of my thought for not having it flush with
the ground where it's at is that someone(propably me) would come around the
corner of the house and fall in! I have two water lettuce in it(floaters),
a cardinal plant, and a lizard's tail plant. Plus Ashlyn conned me into a
plastic water lily. Send a picture if you have one. I love seeing other
people's ideas!
Hugs to you and your family,
Gloria--mommy to angel Erin
