I like your response. I am/have been trying very hard to always say I have
4 grandchildren. But I sometimes end up with "I have 3 living grandchildren
and one angel." And that sounds so strange because I don't hear others
saying things like that. But when people ask if this is Cheryl's first
baby, I always say, "No, she lost her first daughter during a full-term
birth." Then, I always get a "guilty" response from the asker. I try to
smooth the waters and say that they knew ahead of time that she had Trisomy
18 and would have a very hard time. But it always brings an ackward moment.
I'd like to hear the words you use. Can you share with us?
