[tri-wings] Rejoice with Me!(Update--long)-Some religious content

I wanted to update everyone on how everything is going. Our son is doing
miraculously well! He transferred earlier this week to a hospital five hrs
from here, which is much better than halfway across the country like he was!
He was actually able to fly on a commercial airline. Brenda flew out there
monday, friends had him at the airport, and her and him flew out 1/2 hr. after
she got there. They got back to Sioux Falls around 10. he stayed overnite at
her place and we picked him up Tues morn and drove him to the hospital.. It's a
great looking facility--everything we've been looking for. He's able to walk
and eat ok, although naturally he's still a bit weak. Tired--they said it
takes alot of time and calories to heal a wound like this. Mentally, everthing
is great, although some of the short-term memory has a problem, but not much.
He said some of the simplist things give him the most problems, but they'll
work on that, plus possibly some bipolar issues. Last Thurs. night(three weeks
after the shooting) he checked himself out of the hospital against medical
advice!--that shows how well he's doing, although I couldn't believe they let
him do that. The hospital was driving him crazy, and he stayed with a friend,
so was probably better off, anyway.
I have total faith that things will turn out good. God brought him this far
and I know He won't let it drop now. I was worried about our son several
months ago, and told God I was putting him in His hands, because I didn't know
what to do anymore. I know God didn't cause Loren to get shot, but I know He
was there watching over him and protecting him when it happened. God wasn't
ready for him to die yet! And He guided the neurosurgeon's hands and didn't
let her give up on him! The article in the paper out there when it first
happened said "death is imminent", and that's pretty much what they told us the
night they called us. So this truly is a miracle, and I know that all the
prayers that were sent were heard!
Thanks everyone! Take care, keep praying, and remember: miracles DO still
happen in this day and age!
Love and hugs,
Gloria
