I am so very sorry that you have lost Jacob. I met you in San Antonio the  
summer after we lost our daughter Emma. I remember Jake so vividly, because we  
too have a Jake around the same age. I remember thinking how blessed you were 
to  have your son still with you. Seeing the love you and Duane had for him, 
no  matter what helped to reinforce within me all the reasons we fought to save 
our  Emma, against all the doctors and against all the odds. Because we knew 
we loved  her, no matter what special needs she had. That, for me, was one of  
the best things about the conference. 
 
I am glad you have decided to join us here, this is a safe place to talk  
about your feelings and also get to know how others deal with theirs. We always 
 
say we are so very sorry you had to find us, but we are very glad you are 
here.
