[tri-wings] Re: Prenatal Diagnosis

Well, I'm not married or even currently with anyone, so my next pregnancy is a
long way off (Kahlil was rape). Who knows how I will feel at that point.

I wish I could say that Sonya and who knows maybe I will change my mind.
However my doctor really wants me to do testing with any future
pregnancies because of all of my losses. I hope with the next one it
will be worry free.=20

I didn't get any extra testing, and I wouldn't have, but Kahlil's DX
was found through a regular ultrasound first. I'm really glad I had the
DX as I was able to prepare for the loss (we knew he wouldn't live for
more than a few minutes). I was able to have my family there to meet
him, which I normally wouldn.t have. Despite being glad to know with
Kahlil, I still don't think I will have any testing with my future
children. I want my future pregnancies to be a celebration, not a time
of worry. If I find out through some normal means, thats ok, but I'm
not going to go looking for it. At least, that's how I feel now.

However I think I will do all the tests next time just because we have
had so many problems.=3D20

I think education is a vital thing. I consciously chose not to do any
testing during my pregnancy with Ruth. I am so glad that I didn't. I
got to enjoy a healthy pregnancy without the added stress of her
diagnosis. That was one small piece of joy in such a hard situation.
If I had known her condition, I wouldn't have done things differently.
That is just me. I think each person should decide for themselves.
