I did have a pre-natal diagnosis. I am very glad I did because it gave me
the opportunity to go through the grieving process and come to terms with
the fact that Savannah may not have made it. It also gave me the chance to
find out who my true friends were and who weren't (my mother-in-law to name
the number one person!).
I was also able to have level 3 ultrasounds to get a firm diagnosis as well
as a confirmation amnio done where I went to Houston and met Soleah, Nancy's
daughter with T-18 mosaic, she will forever be such an inspiration for me!
I also had a fetal echo done prenatally to check for any heart defects. And
because of the significant testing and pre-natal diagnosis I finally got a
doctor that was willing to work with me and support everything I wanted.
Needless to say, no significant heart defects were found so they knew that
she had a very good chance at survival.
