[tri-wings] Re: Prayers for Mom

Thank you all for your outpouring of support.
Atousa, I will try to keep everyone posted. I hope I will be able to
access my son's laptop for a while. If not, I know that the hospital
has computers available, but you can't always get to e-mail. (But
I'm guessing I'll be able to get to the Website.)

Kathryn, my prayers are with you, your MIL, and your family, too.
I'm so glad that she has come through this so well. Was her aneurism
in her heart, or were they by-passes of the aorta, like my mom's will
be? My brother has had a double by-pass in his heart. He was a
perfect health specimen, yet had to have surgery at 56. I'm
overweight and try to eat low fat foods, but exercise is very hard
for me with my arthritis. (Just had an injection in my foot
yesterday with the doctor wanting to know if maybe I could have my
surgery when my mom is in a swing bed or the nursing home.) But my
heart has been fine. Sometimes, you just can't figure anything
out. I'm so glad you piped in. I just wish I would have known
ahead of time. We could have worried together. [BTW what is the
weather like in 'sunny' South Africa? It is hot and sticky here
right now.]

Thanks, Stacey! Keep us posted on any updates your way, too. I
really appreciate all of the extra notes, too. My prayers continue
to be with you as you go through this agonizing process.

Teri, what wonderful thoughts. I know that Dad will be right there
in our hearts and thoughts. And he will be watching over Mom and
giving her comfort too. I asked Fawna for a little star-gazing a
while ago. I guess I'll have to get our her responses and re-read
them. I knew at the time that they were right on for me, but I
couldn't put events to the dates. Now I'll have to see if I can.
My mom definitely has a strong spirit and a will to live (NO 'do not
resusitate' for her), but she is also practical. It amazes me when I
think about the things she is doing to get ready for this. (Having
her car moved out to her sister's farm so that when they do re-
surface the parking lot, no one will have to worry about it at that
time. And she is definitely bringing a toothbrush, comb and brush to
the hospital. Last time she was there, they no longer handed them
out to patients like they had in days gone by!!)

Thanks again, everyone!!!
