It sounds like they were referring to Choroid Plexus Cysts - or CPC's

CPC's are usually benign cysts that are seen often on ultrasounds around 18
weeks. In most cases they resolve, usually in a week or two but sometimes
they do persist (very very rarely) until birth and yes some babies are born
with them.

In themselves CPC's are nothing - they cause no problems but a lot of T-18
babies (not all) have them and so they consider them a marker for T-18.
However only a very small number of babies with CPC's have T-18 or anything
else wrong with them. That is in 99% of cases of babies with CPC's they have
no problem. In fact the risk of CPC's indicating a problem is so low that
they have even considered that they shouldn't be used as a marker.

So in short CPC's are benign and usually don't mean anything. However if
they see CPC's in an ultrasound they may consider it a "soft" marker that
there is a small chance that there can be a problem and so it can
precipitate more tests to make sure.

This is the case with Atousa. If they did see a CPC it probably means
nothing, and her baby is absolutely fine - but given everything together
they just want to make sure.
