Hi Dawn,

Please be gentle with yourself.  While Margaret Mary is a very special baby,
you are still grieving for Magdalena and may for some time to come.  I did
have immediate attachment with Matthew but Matthew is my second child and my
only child that I was able to take home.  You have several children and I'm
sure your hands are much more full than mine were at 6 weeks.

"She's a great baby who has slept for looong period's since she was a week
old.  Is this normal?? "

How long is the little sweetie sleeping for?  Matthew would sleep for about
2-3 hours at a stretch.  Do you feel its normal?   If not, then give the
pediatrician a call.

"Magdalena's one year was on March 9th and nobody remembered."

  "We celebrated Rebecca's BD..3-8 and Max's BD..3-9 with a small BD party
and for reason's beyond control the only people  who could come were Max's
Godparent's."

This can be tough as well, but sometimes we as parents feel worse than the
kids actually do.  Most of the time kids are just happy because its their
birthday.

"Okay all you wonderful families is it just a touch of post everything-or do
I need to dig deeper to see if I need professional help.  Or better yet fly
someplace warm and sunny for a couple of day's.  It's so dark here in the
mid-west."

You may have your answer right there.  This has been the longest winter I
can ever remember.  And having a newborn this time of year with this kind of
weather is tough.  If you don't feel right, then give your ob a call.  I
know mine was concerned with postpartum and checked in with me for a while
after I had Matthew.  It might not hurt just to touch base with them.
